Breast cancer affects patients, families, friends and entire communities. Therefore, Wayne Lee MD Plastic Surgery is proud to participate in the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. Together with Return2Fitness, our team will walk to support breast cancer survivors, honor those we have lost and help raise funds for breast cancer research and patient support.

On Saturday, October 24 at 9:00 AM, our team will come together at Raymond James Stadium for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.
This free, all-ages event brings people throughout the Tampa Bay community together for a shared purpose. Survivors, families, friends, healthcare professionals and supporters can walk side by side while helping the American Cancer Society continue its work supporting people affected by breast cancer.

More Than a Walk
Making Strides Against Breast Cancer represents much more than a single morning in Tampa.
For survivors, it can represent strength, recovery and moving forward. For families and friends, it provides an opportunity to show their support. In addition, funds raised through Making Strides help the American Cancer Society support breast cancer research and programs designed to help people facing breast cancer.
Every participant has a different reason for walking. However, every step contributes to the same goal of creating a future with better outcomes and greater support for people affected by breast cancer.
Supporting Women Throughout Their Breast Cancer Journey
For Dr. Wayne Lee, supporting the breast cancer community also has a direct connection to his work as a plastic and reconstructive surgeon.
Breast reconstruction can be an important part of recovery for women who have undergone a mastectomy or other breast cancer surgery. While every patient’s circumstances and goals are different, reconstruction may help restore breast shape and symmetry and allow a woman to make choices about how she wants to move forward after cancer treatment.
Dr. Lee works with breast cancer patients to explain their reconstructive options and help them understand what may be appropriate for their individual circumstances.
There is no single breast reconstruction approach that is right for every patient.
Some women choose immediate reconstruction performed in connection with their breast cancer surgery. Others may choose delayed reconstruction after additional cancer treatment has been completed. Some women decide not to pursue reconstruction at all.
The decision should always be based on the patient’s health, cancer treatment, personal preferences and individual goals.
For patients considering reconstruction, understanding the available options is an important first step. Dr. Lee works with patients and their healthcare teams to develop an individualized approach to breast reconstruction and recovery.
