Radiofrequency (RF) energy has a variety of cosmetic applications, especially when it comes to eliminating cellulite and other smaller pockets of adipose (fat) tissue on the face and body. While diet and exercise will shrink these fat deposits to a certain extent, adipose cells do not go away on their own.

Delivering RF energy to fat tissue causes apoptosis (controlled cell death), allowing the tissue to actually be removed from the body. This process enables patients to finally obtain the toned contours they’ve been working toward without needing a more invasive procedure.

AccuTite

During an AccuTite procedure, a handheld applicator is moved slowly across the treatment area, sending RF energy waves beneath the skin. This has two key benefits: stimulating collagen production to promote tighter, firmer skin and melting adipose cells. The cells are immediately suctioned out with a cannula. AccuTite is ideal for precise facial locations, such as below the eye and along the jawline.

BodyTite

BodyTite works similarly to AccuTite, but the slightly larger applicator makes it better for larger areas of the body like the:

  • Abdomen
  • Flanks
  • Back
  • Thighs
  • Chest
  • Knees
  • Arms

EvolveX

If you’d prefer to not only remove fat but improve muscle definition, too, Dr. Lee might recommend EvolveX. Here, RF energy is administered to kill fat cells, which the body can then metabolize over time.

But in addition, EMS, or electrical muscle stimulation, is used to cause intense muscle contractions beyond what is possible at the gym, resulting in ultimate toning. A large set of applicators will be strapped to each treatment area in a process that takes an hour or less.

FlexSure™

The FlexSure™ system features a similar-looking applicator set to the EvolveX device but only releases RF energy, not EMS. This makes FlexSure™ an excellent treatment for patients primarily concerned with significant sections of cellulite and fat deposits but not with muscle stimulation.

Morpheus8 Body

Morpheus8 is an RF and microneedling combination therapy typically used for skin rejuvenation. During a microneedling session, we create tiny micropunctures through the epidermis (top layer of skin) and into the dermis (layers below), triggering the body’s wound healing response to improve the appearance of scars, sunspots, wrinkles, and fine lines.

RF energy is transmitted through the device’s needles into the dermis, further stimulating collagen production. By using the Body attachment, we can also treat adipose deposits and cellulite just under the surface.
